While holding a packet of standard candles  (long rectangular box) brought me to the belief that there could be candle powered torch.
The packaging can definitely be manipulated, I will have to research materials, hopefully I can find something flame retardant, or use a combo of cardboard and foil.

Winning concept so far

Posted by damonstenhouse on October 26, 2007

For rough models I found foil (oven trays) really easy to shape into different shapes, especially good for trying to construct compound curves. This concept worked really well, I thing it could be quite cool if refined. You coose the candle which you would like to burn a fire it up. Like a box of cigars.

Playing with fire

I put a candle inside a gauze to see how it burned, mostly out of curiosity
nothing exciting really happened except that it had a really big flame when it was inside the tube and the wax made really cool patterns down the gauze but than all fell off when the flame caught up.

Living Light Candles – Eco Lamps

Living Light Candles – Eco Lamps

Thanks Mark, the Living Light Candles have some really nice looking design, these are lights but I like the form.

I’m just stuck on the thought that once the candle or candles are used, it would be nice if the the holder had an ongoing purpose.

If I could reflect the qualities of the antique type lamps and holder, this could speak about the packaging ongoing use.

Brainstorm session – Elliot and Damon

Posted by damonstenhouse on October 17, 2007

Killer Ideas:

Soap Packet becomes a cup type container with suction cap and hook on the front primarily for bathroom use but great for for small household items.

Candel(s) packet becomes lantern, or holder for working with the light and combining aromatherapy.

Beer box to sun shade

Toilet roll becomes toilet brush which can then be flush down to biodegrade,

Toilet roll or soap container could stack up to form a towel rack (tall poll form).

Six pack rolls out to become a belt, possibly use recycled seat belts.

Pizza boxes save up to make a sculptural piece of furniture
